What We Do

At Reimagine Agriculture, we work to build and spread fundamental knowledge of the food system and related world issues to create change on an individual and systemic level. Through our knowledge mobilization efforts, we achieve this in multiple ways: We create educational videos, deliver in-person and virtual presentations, and create materials to facilitate further education and conversation in the classroom and beyond.

We love creating tailored material that is as unique as the audience we are delivering it to. Our sessions are fully interactive, meaning you won't leave with more questions than you arrived with - we are here to dispel the myths, push the facts, and let you know when we (or science) don’t know the answer yet!

Please reach out below if you are interested in having our team speak in your classroom, lecture hall, or board room on any of the below topics. We also offer virtual presentations where requested, plus it is free for those in the education community!

Current Presentation Topics

Cultivated Meat

We shall escape the absurdity of growing a whole chicken in order to eat the breast or wing, by growing these parts separately under a suitable medium.
  - Winston Churchill

Cultivated meat is a slaughter-free process that grows real animal meat in a food production facility. This timely technology is poised as a part of the solution to the many environmental, health, and social challenges that are present in our current food system.

Food Loss & Waste

"The total annual food waste and loss estimated to occur along the Canadian food value chain is 35.54 million metric tonnes. This equates to 58.1 percent of commodities entering the food system."
- Second Harvest [Technical Report]

This shocking statistic mirrors the global statistic that if food waste was a country, it would be the 3rd largest emitter of greenhouse gasses (GHG) behind China and the United States.

Video Explainer Series

Our three-part series on Food Waste and Loss explores the ways in which food is wasted and lost throughout the production process, the opportunities that this food loss presents as a means of food security and fighting climate change, and finally, the 'why' of food waste.

Classroom Resources - Lesson Plans

To support our video series on Food Loss and Waste, we have created lesson plans tailored to each of the above videos. These lesson plans are offered freely to all educators who are interested in teaching their students about the issues in Canada's food supply chain.

Drought

"Three-quarters of the world's population will be affected by drought by the year 2050”
- UNCCD, 2022

Even with our abundant freshwater reserves, Canada is not immune to the effects of drought. In recent years, we have experienced extreme drought, which has ruined crops and endangered livelihoods.
